parklife

It is so hot in London this week, beautiful. I realised today how much i love summer, and waking up to blue skies and no jacket weather. Last week i was temping on Shaftesbury Avenue, and instead of doing my usual lunch hour involving shopping for things i can't afford, i found a park directly behind the office. St.Giles Parish Park, is behind the odeon on Shaftesbury Avenue if you're interested, and looks like it's private till you get closer and realise it's full of drunk tramps asleep on guitars and office workers smoking and eating packed lunches, full of gossip.

The ground is wonky and it's packed with flowers and ponds and really looks like someone's back garden. I sat opposite a pond, and turned around to see this inscribed on the bench i was sitting on. I rang a friend and agreed to take on another job, that is going to make my life very busy and stressful but probably ok in the long run. i ruminated over the job offer for days, and then someone said that if the only reason i wasn't doing it was fear, that wasn't a reason not to do it. And well that seemed like a fair point, so now i have a show to write and a cast to find. But as long as i spend some time sitting on benches watching dragonflies, i should make it through without going crazy.
